Rocky Road: A Poem for Your Rough Patch

March 7, 2019

Any of you out there, going through a rough patch? You’re just trying to figure out what the actual hell is going on? Yeah, same. But also, in the back of your mind you know that something extremely amazing is around the corner? Yeah, same.

Naveszn.com is truly what brings me joy throughout the day. It’s been my main focus and something I can work on while I watch these people’s kids. To give you a little more insight, right now  I’m a long term sub until the end of March for a high school Chemistry class. Patrick Hughes song “KTDJ” says “Tell em this ain’t ya passion, you only here to get paid.” I felt that. I have also been a part-time care giver for my grandma who was just diagnosed with Dementia. So life’s, been a little rocky. But it’s all good.

Although life has been a little stressful for me these past 6 months, I’ve been able to handle it because I’ve had a major goal in mind. What’s your goal that you can focus on while you’re going through a rough patch? Making a goal to work on, that will motivate you when you wake up in the morning is the KEY. If your job doesn’t interest you, figure out something that will and that will also benefit you in the future if you work super hard on it now.

#MOOD

I also think about how I told God that I wanted to really step out and start my business for real this time. I wanted to utilize all of my loves: fashion, art, writing, design and all the others. So is this God saying that he’s giving me what I wanted? I think so.

Sometimes, we forget that manifestations are real. God remembers everything we ask for, that is good in his eyes. Every blessing comes with a little struggle.

“Pressure bursts pipes but it also makes diamonds.”

My mom tells me “To whom much is given, much is required.” She also says that she’s always known that I was a special child so I must be prepared. So if you already know that you are destined, you must know that it won’t be easy. But it will be worth it.

STOP DOUBTING IT! YOU’RE DESTINED, BABY!

These times build mental stamina.  Think about when you’re at the top of where you want to be, you don’t think that there will be greater issues that you will face? You wouldn’t be able to handle them with the mindset of an earlier version of yourself. You have to transform your mind.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Even though it gets hard, every battle being thrown towards you is adding towards your cocoon. Remember that. You learn from your battles and they make you better. We go through the same stages as butterflies, except ours is over and over again. You never stop having battles and you never stop evolving into an even more beautiful version of yourself.  Every battle in a phase adds another piece onto your cocoon.  Sooner or later, as you grow within, you’ll be able to break out and elevate.

“One day, the caterpillar stops eating, hangs upside down from a twig or leaf and spins itself a silky cocoon or molts into a shiny chrysalis. Within its protective casing, the caterpillar radically transforms its body, eventually emerging as a butterfly.” Read about the beautiful process here…

A large part of the composition of one’s cocoon is faith. Faith gives you strength. Faith allows you to understand that there is light at the end.

“Having No faith in God is not losing the gift of flying but exing out the wonder of elevation.” – Nave

But I wanted to share this poem with you all. I wrote it last year and it helps me through when I just want to lay in bed. I hope this all helps you too.

Rocky Road

Written By Evan Lawson

Where do I go from here? They never tell you about this space, man I wasn’t prepared. That tiny crevice btw the rock and hard place.

To be honest I’ve always been scared of the dark, the hidden figures always sent my mind to the moon. Out of this planet, with pressing thoughts that I could never swoon.

Sometimes you think that Life’s GPS subsequently leads you  to this place. On your way down to rock bottom chest up, hands out, with no back to brace. Like Life’s covering ya mouth leaving no scream from ya face.

Embrace it while you can they said. Pain is a mental thing , not tangible but alll in your head, like the thing that Nelly sing.

Yet over and over again, right before I hit the bottom, God’s energy swoops in like the wind hitting the leaves of the mustard tree propelling my weightless, almost faithless body onto the backs of angels.

Having No faith in God is not losing the gift of flying but exing out the wonder of elevation. Imagine getting so low that you lose sight of the dreams that that exceed far beyond your imagination.

You can’t let Those God dreams  be clouded by mans lowly cesspools of doubt. Imagine what it must look like when someone is willing to Lose them selves for a sought after piece clout.

But My darling angel, Don’t get lost when the wings that God gave you already came with the sauce.  You got that blood that rolled down from the strength of a man Who willingly hung from a cross.

So don’t give up.  Remember that structures are built on concrete foundations. Every stone thrown your way, is ground up by your positive vibrations. God sees that you’re trying, pressure from solid rocks always results in diamonds. Keep going.

God will light your path from his spirit within you. You’ll be given vision to reveal those who aren’t for you but against you, indeed. Keep believing and trusting him because the righteous always succeed.
